Overall pretty nice, mellow beat and progressive. Some weird complex melodies/drum paterns, slightly too complex and confusing to listen for this chill song. Quality is a little like oldschool jrpg, could use some reverb. I think some sampels either need reverb effects or better samples. What's the instrument at 1:05? :)

NicholasCabraja responds:

Hey Man, thanks for the review.
To what you mentioned and asked:
I didn't want to use a simple pop beat in my drums and your right they could use a some reverb. Not sure what you mean by old school? If your mean the quality. That's probably just a lack of sound design within the strings which are from EWQL lol and synths.
The overall tone of it was inspired by Nujabes. He also had complex drum patterns in his beat, yet it sounded chill and groovy. Haha

The sound at 1:05 is Massive. Basic tri and maybe some other weird ones with a filter. I made it dip nicely by assigning an LFO on Massives amplitude section and the rate is long
Once again, thanks and I appreciate it! ;)

pretty good, could use some reverbs

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks, dude! You might be right. I usually overuse reverb, and I used quite a lot for this too, but I guess I may have been too worried about using too much of it :p

well done. Good quality

DESHIEL responds:

thanks man ;)

I like the fast "core" type songs. Intro is pretty cool. Automations pretty good and I like the drums. Quality of sound is pretty good. Would win some loudness wars. The project file looks neat :) Definitely good enough to get scouted. The overall thing is nicely done

AED4 responds:

Thank you very much! ^^

hehe, a little on the happy side this time, eh? Different sound than from your previous tracks. Intersting fast rolling melodies. Not too sure how I feel about those drums though. I guess it's ok for JRPG style but you boys could do better ;D

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks! Yeah, we try to stay varied XD
It's great to hear that you like the melodies. I totally agree about the drums; I simply don't have any other drums that suit this, hahha. When I get more money, I'll probably buy Stormdrum 3 or something like that :)
(Also, I didn't have time to humanize the drums either, so they could definitely be better).

weird gender.

Nimble responds:

weird gender? lol nah originally the sketch had middle eastern influences, which still remain in the Trombone Soli/Synth Solo Section and some of the Coda. I like to think of it as a kinda fusion piece. Thanks for listening though! I appreciate it a ton. :)

cool transition. I liek the flwo you shhould try making goa trance xD

Adjeye responds:

I've made lots of psy-trance mixes (which is similar to goa) but when I try to produce it, I can't get the hang of the techniques required ;/

Nice composition and sound selection/quality. Would loveto hear the bass to be lower

Jimmypig responds:

I'm gonna take the project file and make another song out of it so I'll make a nice low bass for you.

Side note: I always remember you, that song you made a few years ago "release the kraken" used to crack me up, and whenever I burnt a CD for a friend I would randomly stick it on the CD halfway through to fuck with people. You are somewhat famous among my friends now.

great sonk

AeronMusic responds:

great comment thanks
